Translizer for sports events
Sporting events are increasingly international as athletes and spectators are happy to travel vast distances to be a part of their beloved sports. This has also created new demands for the business and governance of sport as well. Sponsors demand global visibility and national and international governing bodies interact on a daily basis. All this has created a need for translations in nearly all areas of sport.
Let Translizer manage the language and cultural aspects of your event.
This would not happen with Translizer.
Getting it right
Translizer brings much more than languages to the table. Our multi-faceted expertise ensures that your event will be a success in every language and an enjoyable experience for all cultures and nationalities. We can take responsibility over faith considerations, multi-lingual communication and marketing, cultural hurdles and successful PR. With our help you can save yourself from embarrassing situations, minor and major, that many previous sporting events have suffered from - like in the video above where Borat's spoof Kazakh national anthem was played in front of the world's media or when the 2010 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Tournament mascot was named Goooly and everyone in the English-speaking world instantly noted the similarity to gooly or goolies, a common name for testicles.
Translizer offers two key benefits:
Firstly, Translizer's language team can manage all the multi-lingual documentation production for your event. We can manage professional translation teams, be they in-house or outsourced assets or we can look at fan-based or otherwise crowdsourced solutions. Regardless of the translation strategy, we'll make sure the results are world class.
Translizer is also 100% independent and our objective is to get you the best quality translations and make your translation budget stretch as far as it can go. We can advise you on your internal processes, vendor selection, rate negotiation, technology and everything else that goes with the territory.
Secondly, cultural safeguards are important in any international event, particularly those in media. Translizer ensures you avoid cultural faux-pas through research, expertise and education. A word that may be perfectly acceptable in your language, might mean something completely different in another - we'll ensure these will not create problems in any of your target markets. We'll also advice you on colours, shapes and other visual queues that may have special meaning within your target markets.
Major League Roller Hockey teams up with Translizer
When MLRH decided to expand its established American operations into European markets, they recognised the need to communicate with fans across the continent in their own language. Whilst MLRH's management team is highly experienced in the sport, they lack the expertise in multi-lingual and multi-cultural communication. So, in April 2012, MLRH teamed up with Translizer to deliver content and international events using Translizer's expertise and experience. MLRH's first international tournament will be held in November 2012 and we're excited to be a part of bringing professional roller hockey to Europe.
